The Swedish blues rock band CIRKUS PRÜTZ have improved from album to album in their career.  In order to top their previous achievements once again, they have brought producer, multi-musician, bandleader and songwriter Peter Tägtgren (Pain, Hypocrisy, Lindemann, Sabaton and many more) on board for their fourth album "Manifesto".

„Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass wir unsere Musik weiter Richtung Zukunft bringen wollten. Wir brauchten einen Schub nach vorne und einen neuen Sound“, erklärt der Sänger und Gitarrist der Band, Christian Carlsson.

„Ich kenne Peter schon ziemlich lange und war über die Jahre ein Fan seiner Arbeit, vor allem mit Pain. Wir haben schon vor ein paar Jahren über eine Zusammenarbeit gesprochen und jetzt ist es endlich passiert“, sagt der Bassist der Band, Jerry Prütz, und fügt hinzu, dass Peter die Band sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich wirklich beflügelt hat.

„Es darf nicht oldschool oder wie ein altes Bluesalbum klingen“, war Peter Tägtgrens Devise für den gesamten Prozess.

Die zehn Songs auf MANIFESTO erzählen über alles Mögliche, von Dragracing bis zu Casinobesuchen in Las Vegas, von Stalking wie in der Netflix-Serie "Baby Reindeer" bis zu einer Hommage an Peter Stormares ikonischen Charakter Karl Hungus im Film "The Big Lebowski".

Sound und Songwriting sind auf der Höhe der Zeit. Alle Songs wurden von der Band gemeinsam im Proberaum geschrieben und bekamen anschließend von Peter Tägtgren in seinem Studio den nötigen Feinschliff. Das Mastering lag in den Händen von Jonas Kjellgren, der auch für die Produktion der letzten "Sabaton" Alben verantwortlich war.

In einem musikalischem Genre, in dem die meisten Dinge der Tradition folgen, heben sich CIRKUS PRÜTZ deutlich ab und wagen es, sich selbst, aber auch ihr Publikum herauszufordern.

‘We had the feeling that we wanted to take our music further into the future. We needed a push forward and a new sound,’ explains the band's singer and guitarist Christian Carlsson.

‘I've known Peter for quite a long time and have been a fan of his work over the years, especially with Pain. We talked about working together a few years ago and now it's finally happened,’ says the band's bassist Jerry Prütz, adding that Peter has really inspired the band both musically and lyrically.

‘It shouldn't sound old school or like an old blues album,’ was Peter Tägtgren's motto for the entire process.

The ten songs on "Manifesto" talk about everything from drag racing to casino visits in Las Vegas, from stalking like in the Netflix series "Baby Reindeer" to an homage to Peter Stormare's iconic character Karl Hungus in the film "The Big Lebowski".

Sound and songwriting are right up to date. All the songs were written by the band together in the rehearsal room and were then given the necessary finishing touches by Peter Tägtgren in his studio. The mastering was in the hands of Jonas Kjellgren, who was also responsible for the production of the last "Sabaton" albums.

In a musical genre where most things follow tradition, Cirkus Prütz stand out and dare to challenge themselves, but also their audience.
