Der ehemalige Schlagzeuger der Scorpions hat sich zwölf Songs ausgesucht, um sie mit guten Freunden und großartigen Musikern noch einmal neu einzuspielen. Am 5. Juli 2025 wird eine große Jubiläums-Show zum 60. Geburtstag der Band stattfinden.

Welcome to a journey back to the future! Herman Rarebell & Friends take you back to the eighties and together we return to our time with the greatest music of this powerful decade. 

The former Scorpions drummer has chosen twelve songs to re-record with good friends and great musicians. On July 5, 2025, a big anniversary show will take place to celebrate the band's 60th birthday.

Willkommen zu einer Reise zurück in die Zukunft! Herman Rarebell & Friends nehmen euch mit in die Achtziger und gemeinsam kommen wir mit der größten Musik dieser kraftvollen Dekade wieder in unserer Zeit an. 

Herman hat sich zwölf Songs ausgesucht, um sie mit guten Freunden und großartigen Musikern noch einmal neu einzuspielen. Als Verbeugung vor den größten Hits einer Zeit, die für ihn ganz persönlich ein goldenes Zeitalter war. Der ehemalige Black-Sabbath-Bassist Bob Daisley ist auf diesem Album zu hören; Dann Huff, der als Studiomusiker auf einigen der größten Alben der Popgeschichte zu hören ist, ist dabei, dazu Howard Leese von den legendären US-Rockern Heart und Sänger Michael Voss (u.a. Casanova, Mad Max, Michael Schenker). Was für ein Ensemble, was für eine Freude.

Herman sagt über diese Zeit: "Ich finde, dass nie zuvor oder danach kraftvollere Musik entstanden ist. Es war für mich das goldene Zeitalter, ich habe es genossen. Mit den Scorpions bereisten wir die Welt, wir trafen Menschen aus allen Kulturkreisen. Ein einziger Rausch. Alles war möglich und das jederzeit. 

Ich will mit diesem Album nicht nur die Erinnerung an die großen Hits der Achtziger zurückbringen. Es geht mir nicht nur um die Melodien und die Rhythmen, die mir heute fehlen. Es geht mir vor allem um das Gefühl, das diese Nummern transportieren. Die Liebe, der Mut, der Optimismus, der in ihnen steckt. Ich finde, dass viel davon verloren gegangen ist. Der Groove, der in "Here I go again" steckt, der überlebensgroße Refrain von "I Love Rock'n'Roll" und die unerschütterliche Power von "Rock You Like A Hurricane“. Die Liebe und die Sehnsucht von „I want to know what Love is“. Es ist kein Wunder, dass diese Songs seit vier Jahrzehnten ihren Platz in den Herzen der Menschen haben. Die Kraft, der besondere Geist der Achtziger steckt für mich bei diesen Songs in jedem Akkord, jedem Hieb auf die Bassdrum. Jeder Take, den wir für dieses Album eingespielt haben, war purer Genuss. Freunde, die große Musik spielen. Wir hoffen, dass Ihr fühlt, was wir in diese Neueinspielungen gelegt haben: Liebe, Power, Optimismus! Für mich ist das die Kraft der Achtziger! Wer dabei war, wird sich erinnern. Und wer es verpasst hat, verdient es, es zumindest auf diesem Wege nachzuerleben.

Herman has chosen twelve songs to re-record with good friends and great musicians. As a tribute to the greatest hits of a time that was a golden age for him personally. Former Black Sabbath bassist Bob Daisley can be heard on this album; Dan Huff, who can be heard as a studio musician on some of the greatest albums in pop history, is there, as well as Howard Leese from the legendary US rockers Heart and singer Michael Voss (Casanova, Mad Max, Michael Schenker, among others). What an ensemble, what a pleasure.

Herman says of this time: “I don't think more powerful music has ever been created before or since. It was the golden age for me, I enjoyed it. We traveled the world with the Scorpions, we met people from all cultures. It was one big rush. Anything was possible at any time. 

With this album, I don't just want to bring back memories of the great hits of the eighties. It's not just about the melodies and rhythms that I miss today. Above all, it's about the feeling that these songs convey. The love, the courage, the optimism that is in them. I think a lot of that has been lost. The groove in “Here I go again”, the larger-than-life chorus of “I Love Rock'n'Roll” and the unshakeable power of “Rock You Like A Hurricane”. The love and longing of “I want to know what Love is”. It's no wonder that these songs have held a place in people's hearts for four decades. For me, the power, the special spirit of the eighties is in every chord of these songs, every hit on the bass drum. Every take we recorded for this album was pure pleasure. Friends who play great music. We hope you feel what we've put into these new recordings: Love, power, optimism! For me, this is the power of the eighties! Those who were there will remember. And anyone who missed it deserves to relive it, at least in this way.
