"Isolation Boulevard" ist eine Sammlung von 12 Re-Recordings aus dem umfangreichen Fundus an Sweet-Klassikern. Die Aufnahmen entstanden 2020 während der Corona-Pandemie. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist die Gesamtleistung aller Beteiligten umso beeindruckender, vom treibenden Schlagzeug und Bass bis hin zu den „in your face“-Gitarren und dem stratosphärischen Gesang.   Obwohl das Album unter schwierigen Bedingungen entstand, war es am Ende für alle Beteiligten ein Vergnügen "Isolation Boulevard" einzuspielen. Das Resultat spricht für sich selbst.

‘Isolation Boulevard’ is a collection of 12 re-recordings from the extensive collection of Sweet classics. The recordings were made in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. Against this backdrop, the overall performance of everyone involved is all the more impressive, from the driving drums and bass to the ‘in your face’ guitars and stratospheric vocals.   Although the album was created under difficult conditions, in the end it was a pleasure for everyone involved to record ‘Isolation Boulevard’. The result speaks for itself.

2019 starteten SWEET mit der "Still Got The Rock" Tour in Europa und Großbritannien die bis dahin größte Tournee in ihrer langen Karriere. Zwischendurch fand man sogar noch Zeit, nach Australien zu fliegen, um als Co-Headliner auf der "Rock The Boat Cruise 2019" zu spielen. Die Band war heiß und freute sich auf die Zukunft. Doch plötzlich 2020 war die ganze Welt in Aufruhr, ausgelöst durch eine globale Pandemie und alle Räder standen von heute auf morgen still. Aber für Sweet musste es einen Ausweg geben, sonst wäre die musikalische Kreativität in all ihren Formen für immer verloren gegangen. Also begann man, in der für alle neuen Isolation, ein Sweet Album mit den „neuen“ Jungs Paul Manzi und Lee Small und der „alten Garde“ Andy Scott und Bruce Bislan zu produzieren. Das Album bekam, der Situation angepasst, den Titel "Isolation Boulevard". Bei den Songs handelt es sich um Re-Recordings von 12 Klassikern aus dem umfangreichen Fundus von Sweet. Für die Aufnahmen blieb zwischen den Lockdowns in Großbritannien nur wenig Zeit, um das angestrebte Ziel zu erreichen. Obendrein gab es noch zahlreiche technische Hindernisse, die es zu überwinden galt. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist die Gesamtleistung aller Beteiligten umso beeindruckender, vom treibenden Schlagzeug und Bass bis hin zu den „in your face“-Gitarren und dem stratosphärischen Gesang. Am Ende war es für alle ein Vergnügen "Isolation Boulevard" einzuspielen, obwohl man unter sehr strengen Distanzierungsregeln standen. Das Resultat spricht für sich selbst.

In 2019, SWEET embarked on the biggest tour of their long career to date with the ‘Still Got The Rock’ tour in Europe and the UK. In between, they even found time to fly to Australia to play as co-headliners on the ‘Rock The Boat Cruise 2019’. The band was fired up and looking forward to the future. But suddenly in 2020, the whole world was in turmoil, triggered by a global pandemic and all wheels came to a standstill overnight. But for Sweet, there had to be a way out, otherwise musical creativity in all its forms would be lost forever. So, in what was a new isolation for everyone, they began to produce a Sweet album with the ‘new’ guys Paul Manzi and Lee Small and the ‘old guard’ Andy Scott and Bruce Bislan. The album was given the title ‘Isolation Boulevard’ to suit the situation. The songs are re-recordings of 12 classics from Sweet's extensive collection. There was little time between the lockdowns in the UK to achieve the desired goal. On top of this, there were numerous technical obstacles that had to be overcome. With this in mind, the overall performance of everyone involved is all the more impressive, from the driving drums and bass to the ‘in your face’ guitars and stratospheric vocals. In the end, it was a pleasure for everyone to record ‘Isolation Boulevard’, despite being under very strict distancing rules. The result speaks for itself.
